Black bean pasta with black mushrooms

This is one of my fusion dishes that i decided to make when I wanted a bowlful of cozy umami noodles. It's made with spicy fettuccine pasta from Donna Pastaia and fresh black mushrooms from Shroomery and my black bean jam. This dish comes together really easily and doesn't take many ingredients. 

Enjoy on its own or eat it with your favourite protein and side of vegetables for a healthy meal!



  • 3 Tablespoons Struggle Butt Black Bean Jam
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • Pasta of your choice + reserved pasta water
  • 100g Mushrooms of your choice
  • Garnish - Sesame seeds + Fried Garlic


Step 1 - Boil pasta in salted water according to package directions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water. 

Step 2 - In a frying pan, saute the onion until translucent and add mushrooms. Cook mushrooms for 2 minutes and add black bean jam. 

Step 3- Saute the onion mushroom and black bean jam for 1 minute and add pasta water and stir to create a sauce. Add pasta to the sauce and stir it until the pasta is coated with the beautiful black bean sauce. Add more water if necessary. 

Plate up and garnish with Sesame seeds and fried garlic
